Are you looking for an opportunity to develop your career in data, whilst gaining hands on experience in audit and fraud prevention?

We're looking for an Intelligence Analyst Apprentice to join our Risk and Assurance Team based in York. While this role sits primarily within the Investigations Team, you'll focus on data across all of the disciplines within the Risk and Assurance Team, developing a well-rounded understanding of how data drives effective risk management and assurance.

Acting as a key link between our internal audit activities and our Investigations Team, you'll use intelligence driven data to support our internal audit work whilst also undertaking counter-fraud work across London North Eastern Railway in accordance with professional counter fraud standards.

This role will play an important part in delivering the Data Driven pillar of our Internal Audit, Revenue Protection, and Fraud strategies, which gives you the chance to make a real impact whilst building on your own experience.

You'll collaborate closely with colleagues, including the Financial and Operational Audit Manager, Senior Fraud Prevention Manager, and the Investigation and Prosecutions Manager, gaining valuable insight along the way.

Apprenticeship
This role will be an apprenticeship and on completion of the programme you will be awarded the Level 4 apprenticeship in Intelligence Analysis by the Institute of Apprenticeships and the Higher Certificate in Intelligence Analysis by LJMU. Further information on course can be found here;

What you'll need
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic about developing a career in data and has a strong interest in using technology to support business improvements. You'll also have;

  • A qualification in a data related subject, or the willingness to work towards one (essential).
  • Understanding of an internal auditing function.
  • Basic understanding of fraud investigations.
  • An understanding of the relevant regulations and procedural governance relating to ticket retailing and the systems which support this.
  • Experience of leveraging technology to strategically innovate..
  • Strong IT skills, with a particular focus on data analytics software and Microsoft Office.

Apprenticeship - Prior to starting the programme you must have obtained Grade C or Grade 4 or above in English Language and Mathematics GCSE or an approved alternative qualification below:

  • Key Skills Level 2 in English/Maths
  • NVQ Level 2 Functional skills in Maths and English Writing and or Reading
  • Skills for Life Level 2 in Numeracy/English
  • Higher Diploma in Maths/English
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths/English
  • Northern Ireland Essential Skills Level 2 in Communication or Application of Number
  • Wales Essential Skills Level 2 in Communication or Application of Number

Medical screening
We're a safety conscious business so for all roles you'll need to pass a medical screening and a drugs and alcohol test before we send you an unconditional job offer.
