How does it work?
When you register your interest in our programmes, your details will be used in two ways:

1. Understanding what programmes, career areas and locations you are interested in helps our business leaders at LNER know how many requests we have, and in what areas, so we can do our best to create the right opportunities in the right places.
2. You will be asked to give specific timings and explain why the opportunity matters to you. This will help our managers understand if you are a good match for any opportunity they can offer, or programme they are running, before sending you an invitation. Remember, this is your opportunity to tell us your story.

Please note that Year-in-Industry Placements and Apprenticeships are advertised as job opportunities. So you should also register for job alerts to be alerted of the opportunities before submitting an application. When you declare your interest, it will only help us understand where we have high demand for these opportunities. 

Are placements guaranteed to everyone that registers?
Unfortunately, we receive many more requests each year than we can accommodate. Declaring your interest is the best way to ensure that you get the opportunity to be invited to join in. Please note that you should be age 15 or over to participate in our programmes.

Can I register for more than one programme?
Yes you can, you will be able to select your programmes, career areas and locations of choice.

Does my registration expire?
We clear the list of registered candidates each year at the end of March. This is when most of our opportunity invitations are sent out. You are welcome to declare your interest again from April to be considered for the remaining or following year. 

What will happen after I register?
By registering here, you will have 'declared your interest' in a programme. You should receive an email that will confirm we have received your registration. After that, if there are any opportunities appropriate to your request, one of our managers will reach out to you directly by email with the details. 

Are you a parent or carer supporting a young parent to apply?
We are committed to helping young people become self-sufficient in the workplace (just like you are!). Please ensure that this registration is filled in using the interested person's name, email and details to support their registration to avoid any confusion.
